CAPITOL: 1986 SYNOPSES

January 6-10, 1986:
Victor's men recaptured Jenny, who admitted to Victor that she mistakenly shot Mark at the Lincoln Club while gunning for Josh Harrington, whom she fears wants Victor dead. Victor kidnapped Zed. Tyler and Sloane pinpointed the farmhouse where Sandy's cohorts are holding Julie captive.
A drugged Julie became delirious with a high fever. Tyler disarmed Len and helped Julie escape. Sherry held Sloane at gunpoint after Sandy cornered Tyler and Julie in the barn.
January 13-17, 1986: Sandy and Tyler struggled over a gun after Tyler dumped bales of hay from the loft onto him. Sandy and Sherry were both shot and killed during the struggle. A hooker named Tawny helped Zed escape from Victor's henchmen. Suffering from delirium and fever, Julie was hospitalized near Mark. Leanne panicked at the thought of meeting Jordy's family then devastated him with news that she has Wilson's lymphoma, a terminal blood disorder. Paula overheard Clarissa's plans to have Mark recuperate in the McCandless home after he's released from the hospital.
January 20-24, 1986:
Tyler found Sherry's diary which detailed Josh's involvement with organized crime. Sloane told a hysterical Julie that Mark identified her as his attempted murderer. Paula schemed to get Mark back when he's released from the hospital. Jordy promised Leanne that they'll have a life together. Paula hired male nurse Andrew to assist her in her plot to get Mark away from Clarissa. Before Victor could get her out of town, Jenny and Zed were reunited. Zed told Jenny he still loves her and will help her remember the past.
January 27-31, 1986: Andrew kidnapped Mark from University Hospital, then took him to a simulated hospital room in Paula's basement. Josh pulled a gun on Tyler, but was arrested after Tyler secretly taped his confession to organized criminal activity. Andrew used hypnosis to keep Mark in line. Tyler investigated Julie's claim that she had nothing to do with Mark's shooting. Paula lied to Sloane about Mark leaving town to recuperate.
February 3-7, 1986:
Sarah Caruso, a maid at the Lincoln Club, told Tyler that she saw Julie slip out the back door moments after Mark was shot. Jarrett realized that Jenny, not Julie, shot Mark. Zed lovingly helped Jenny recall bits and pieces of her past.
Paula scrambled to keep Sloane from finding Mark hidden in the basement. Trey fumed when Governor Sheridan suggested Tyler assume Mark's political seat until he recovers. Julie searched for clues that might lead her to Zed and Jenny.
February 10-14, 1986:
Victor took Jarrett hostage, vowing not to release him until Jenny returns to Victor. Andrew hypnotized Mark into believing that Paula is Clarissa. Myrna grilled Leanne at a family dinner, then disapproved of Jordy moving her into the cabana. Jordy decided to move out of the Clegg estate. Brenda fought with Wally after he suggested they marry immediately. Dylan kissed Brenda passionately. Julie found a clue to Moonstone and suspected Zed and Jenny are hiding there.
Jenny was tormented by thoughts of shooting Mark.
February 17-21, 1986
Jenny and Zed made love after she regained her memory. Sloane realized that Paula is holding Mark captive and forced her to return him to the hospital. Julie left town to search for Jenny and Zed. Kelly and Trey moved Leanne and Jordy into Hal Dayton's old apartment. Mark urged Clarissa to think about her feelings for him and Jarrett. Trey realized Leanne is dying after overhearing her conversation with Jordy.
Julie arrived at Moonstone and spotted a portrait of Jenny, just as Jenny came down the stairs behind her.
February 24-28, 1986:
Brenda pursued her feelings for Dylan and canceled the wedding to Wally. Myrna delighted over Brenda's decision, but Sam warned Myrna the plan may backfire if Brenda actually falls in love with Dylan. Jenny confessed to Zed and Julie that she shot Mark after mistaking him for Josh Harrington. Zed persuaded Jenny to return to Washington. Jenny's confession prompted Victor to release Jarrett.
Mark vowed to break off all communication with Paula after learning she had him kidnapped and hypnotized.
March 3-7, 1986:
Mark learned that Jenny, not Julie, was his assailant. Tyler agreed to defend Jenny, who admitted to DA Alonzo that she attempted to kill Josh because she feared he would order her father's death. Attempted murder charges against Jarrett were dropped. Mark took up residence with Sloane rather than return home to Paula.
March 10-14, 1986:
Kelly suspected she's the reason Trey was dropped from a White House guest list. DA Alonzo reduced the charges against Jenny to assault with a deadly weapon. Jordy learned that Leanne's grandfather was part of a vaudeville team.
Leanne wondered if she's in remission and asked Dr. Bromberg if she could carry a healthy baby. Jordy hoped Leanne's grandfather could lead him to Leanne's siblings.
March 17-21, 1986:
Brenda was uspet to learn that Dylan sold his motorcycle. Zed feared his testimony didn't help Jenny's case. Trey and Sloane's divorce was finalized.
While searching for Leanne's grandfather, Jordy discovered she has a sister.
March 24-28, 1986:
Jordy tracked down Leanne's sister Kate Wells, who blames Leanne for the car-crash that killed their parents. Judson took a shine to Corky's waitress Darlene Stankowski. Jenny sensed that Sloane hates her because she shot Mark.
A decision was reached in Jenny's assault case.
March 31-April 4, 1986:
The court sentenced Jenny to two years' probation for shooting Mark. Trey was upset by all the positive press Tyler gained from defending Jenny. Judson courted Darlene. Myrna grew increasingly nervous about Brenda's relationship with Dylan and considered firing him.
April 7-11, 1986:
Myrna decided not to fire Dylan for fear that Brenda will follow him if he leaves town, then she stashed a pair of diamond earrings in Dylan's dresser drawer. Leanne learned that her cancer is out of remission. Clarissa accepted Mark's marriage proposal.
April 14-18, 1986:
Paula swallowed a bottle of pills after Mark told her that Clarissa agreed to marry him. Trey's political party chairman warned him that Trey will lose his political standing if he doesn't dump Kelly. Dylan was the prime suspect when the police arrived to investigate Myrna's jewel robbery. Sloane performed CPR on an unconscious Paula.
April 21-25, 1986:
Brenda failed to cover for Dylan who was arrested for stealing Myrna's earrings. Thomas comforted Sloane about Paula, who might never awaken from her coma. Leanne's medical condition worsened. Victor informed Jarrett he plans to disappear permanently after testifying against organized crime leaders.
April 28-May 2, 1986:
While dancing with Jordy, Leanne collapsed and was rushed to the hospital. Dylan was denied bail because his mother filed a warrant for his arrest on an assault charge. Jordy begged Kate to donate her bone marrow to Leanne, who will soon die without a transplant. Paula came out of the coma and began to recover from her suicide attempt.
May 5-9, 1986:
At the last minute, Kate agreed to donate bone marrow for Leanne. Dylan was cleared of theft charges after it was proven Myrna framed him. Sam sent Trey to the Middle Eastern nation of Baracq, whose leader Prince Ali may refuse to renew Clegg Industries' oil leases. Sloane accompanied Trey to Baracq and planned to get an interview with Ali.
May 12-16, 1986:
Leanne and Kate underwent the bone marrow transplant. Dylan accepted a job at Corky's Bar, but refused Sam's offer to put him through college. In Baracq, Ali and Sloane found themselves attracted to one another. Kate and Leanne survived the transplant surgery.
May 19-23, 1986:
Prince Ali and Sloane made love in a tent at his desert camp. Kate accepted Sam's offer to move into the Clegg mansion while she recuperates from the bome marrow transplant surgery. Trey didn't trust Clegg Industries employee Yussef Ibn Mamid. Zed tried to comfort a hysterical Jenny after an unseen assailant shot and killed Victor in Columbe.
May 26-30, 1986:
Ali sent Sloane back to her hotel then went to confront his enemy Abdullah. Brenda was unaware that her waitress friend Elsie went on a date with Dylan. Zed vowed to discover who murdered Victor, while Jenny sank further into depression.
June 2-6, 1986:
Ali was reported to have been killed in battle. Jarrett secretly met with a mystery woman who had attended Victor's funeral. Zed worried about Jenny's inability to cope with her father's death. Sloane received a message from Ali, informing her that he's still alive.
June 9-13, 1986:
Kate conned Sam into letting her live in the mansion indefinitely. Tyler left for Geneva to research an Interpol job. Jarrett kept mum about his mystery lady Carla St. Anne, who returned to Columbe. An anxious Sloane worried about Ali's continued absence.
June 16-20, 1986:
DJ turned Kelly on to tranquilizers when she stressed during a charity art auction. Ali's sudden appearance on her talk show stunned Sloane. Trey learned that Sam gave money to Ali's enemy Abdullah. A conniving Kate planned to seduce Sam.
June 23-27, 1986:
Kate convinced Myrna into going to New York to take over a fashion magazine. Later, Sam had a heart attack during Kate's seduction attempt. Jarrett was upset that his housekeeper Tirese gave Clarissa an amulet to protect her from evil.
June 30-July 4, 1986:
Sam suffered a second heart attack and was hospitalized near death. Paula hired Detective Decker Houston to help her scheme against gossip columnist Vera Sweet. Trey searched for Sam's records on Baracq investments. Leanne feared her attempted seduction of Sam would be uncovered.
July 7-11, 1986:
Sam admitted to Trey that the Clegg family fortune will be lost if Ali cancels their oil leases. Baxter told a sobbing Carla that what they shared in the past is over. Jenny refused Zed's suggestion that they move. Ali met Princess Yasmeen, a girl his father arranged for him to marry.
July 14-18, 1986:
Jarrett professed his love to Clarissa. Later, Clarissa slipped into a trance while watching a tribal ceremony with Tirese. Myrna discovered the truth about the oil leases and vowed to save Clegg Industries.
July 21-25, 1986:
Carla was presumed dead after an explosion destroyed Victor's house. Zed convinced Jenny to seek psychiatric help for her grief. Myrna assumed the presidency of Clegg Industries during Sam's recuperation. Jordy was seriously injured in a horrific car crash.
July 28-August 1, 1986:
Jordy survived the accident but doctors warned he'll need extensive plastic surgery to repair his badly scarred face. Zed feared Victor's enemies will try to kill Jenny, too. Jenny underwent sessions with a psychiatrist. Clarissa sensed that she's being watched.
August 4-8, 1986:
During a violent storm, Clarissa thought she saw Carla's face in the window. King Hassad warned he won't be happy if Ali refuses to marry his daughter. D.J. gave Kelly more pills. Myrna stopped a takeover bid for Clegg Industries. Paula threatened Vera Sweet. A disturbed Jenny developed an irrational fear of Sloane.
August 11-15, 1986:
A despondent Jordy couldn't see out of his left eye and rejected Leanne. DJ slept with Meredith. Hassad was angry at Ali, who refused to marry Yasmeen because he loves Sloane. Jarrett wasn't sure that Carla died. Jenny fantasized killing her enemy Sloane. Jordy's depression became suicidal.
August 18-22, 1986:
Myrna went to Baracq to negotiate an oil deal with Ali. The police took Jordy home from a bridge where he contemplated jumping. Sam experienced pain. DJ urged Meredith to get chummy with Dylan. Baxter refused to let Clarissa look in a locked trunk he's keeping. Jenny sent poisoned chocolates to Sloane.
August 25-29, 1986:
DJ and Meredith made allusions to committing murder. Ali agreed to renew Clegg's oil leases after Myrna promised to give his army weapons. Sloane left Baracq. Sloane's assistant Paris collapsed after eating Jenny's poisoned chocolates. Jordy continued to shun his family and Leanne. Under DJ's orders, Meredith schemed to break up Brenda and Dylan.
September 1-5, 1986:
Everyone presumed Sloane's attempted murder was linked to Ali. Jenny learned her plot failed and vowed to succeed next time. Jarrett met with Carla, who is still alive. Jordy's growing depression led him to sleazy bars. A jealous Brenda found Dylan and Meredith together.
September 8-12, 1986:
Scotty fell from a jungle gym and needed blood. Trey was stunned when his blood type didn't match Scotty's then ordered tests that proved he is isn't Scotty's biological father. Ali proposed marriage to Sloane. Jordy's continued rejection prompted Leanne to end their relationship. Jenny planned another murder attempt against Sloane.
September 15-19, 1986:
Sloane rejected Ali's marriage proposal. Meredith studied astrology with Dylan then secretly left her camisole in his apartment. Sloane's assistant Paris recovered from being poisoned. Jenny invited Sloane to dinner. Brenda found Meredith's camisole and assumed the worst. Just as Sloane arrived for dinner, Jenny posioned a bottle of table wine. Trey brooded over doubts about Scotty's parentage.
September 22-26, 1986:
After drinking poisoned wine, Jenny, Zed, and Sloane were hospitalized. Jenny died, while Zed remained comatose. Trey decided to confront Kelly about who really fathered Scotty. Judson followed Baxter, who met with Carla again. Ali rushed to Sloane's side and offered to abdicate the throne to marry her. Josh Harrington was found murdered in his jail cell. Someone left a voodoo doll on Clarissa's doorstep. Brenda and Dylan reconciled while DJ spied on them with hidden cameras.
September 29-October 3, 1986:
Sloane refused to let Ali abdicate the throne to marry her. DJ learned that Brenda and Dylan are back together. After Kelly revealed that DJ is Scotty's natural father, a furious Trey ended his relationship with her. Clarissa was unnerved to find a voodoo doll in her bed and confided to Thomas that she can't trust Jarrett's innocence. In Columbe, Judson met with Papa Nebo, who conjured the spirit of "undead" Glenn Marriott. Glenn insisted that he saw Baxter's dead body after the plane crash. Papa Nebo suggested exhuming Baxter's body to prove he's really dead.
October 6-10, 1986:
Judson told Thomas the real Baxter died in a plane crash. DJ got Kelly hooked on cocaine. Clarissa received minor injuries after crashing her car. Zed regained consciousness, but he has amnesia and doesn't know that Jenny is dead. Brenda caught Dylan with Meredith again and walked out on him.
October 13-17, 1986:
Clarissa found a note from Tirese, who warned her to watch out for the Octopus. On DJ's orders, Meredith let Dylan seduce her into his bed. Brenda agreed to move in with DJ. Ali finally consented to marrying Yasmeen.
October 20-24, 1986:
Trey shocked the Cleggs by marrying Angelica Stimac, who is only eighteen. Wally and Dylan fought over Brenda. Mark comforted Clarissa, who told him that Baxter is an impostor. Kelly snorted more cocaine. Ali told Sloane that he intends to marry Yasmeen. Zed regained his memory and learned that Jenny is dead.
October 27-31, 1986:
DJ lured Dylan and Wally together then gleefully informed them that he plans to kill them and set it up to look like they killed one another over Brenda. Meredith, who really loves Dylan, was consumed with guilt because she helped DJ set him up. Kelly's cocaine habit worsened. Sloane agreed to cover Ali and Yasmeen's wedding with fellow journalist Hubie.
November 3-7, 1986:
Meredith shot DJ before he could kill Dylan and Wally. A bitter Trey insisted to Angelica he doesn't want any children. Kelly scored more cocaine from fellow hooker Emily. DJ survived the shooting but is paralyzed.
November 10-14, 1986:
A man with an octopus tattoo attended a press conference for Ali and Yasmeen. DJ told Trey that Kelly lied when she said that DJ is Scotty's natural father. Trey suspected Thomas fathered Scotty, roughed up Kelly, then went into a rage when Kelly said Thomas is Scotty's father. Thomas realized Kelly has hit rock bottom. Ali and Yasmeen prepared for a royal wedding.
November 17-21, 1986:
Sloane and Hubie caught a glimpse of the tattooed assassin, who fired shots during Ali and Yasmeen's wedding. After being struck by the assassin's bullet, Yasmeen made Ali promise to marry Sloane, then died in his arms. Thomas admitted Kelly to a detox program at University Hospital. Clarissa agreed to keep Scotty during Kelly's absence. After eavesdropping on Leanne and Kelly's phone conversation, Kate told Sam that Kelly is a drug addict. Sam vowed to get custody of Scotty, using Kate's information.
Kelly befriended single mother Tracy Harris at the rehab clinic. While Myrna was in Baracq, Kate and Sam reignited their affair.
November 24-28, 1986:
Dylan learned that he's the recipient of a sizable fortune. Kelly checked herself out of the clinic, snatched Scotty, and went into hiding at Hal's farmhouse. Brenda stunned Myrna with the news that Dylan is now very wealthy. Baxter and Carla discovered that Victor wrote the letters M.A.D. in the sand before being killed by a hit man. Thomas and Sam searched for Kelly.
December 1-5, 1986:
Thomas and Sam tracked down Kelly, who told a disbelieving Sam that he's Scotty's natural father. Sloane and Hubert recognized Colton, who is Yasmeen's assassin, when he failed an attempt to kill Clarissa. Thomas returned Scotty to Clarissa and took Kelly back to the rehab center.
December 8-12, 1986:
Mark was revealed to be the head of the Octopus organization. Sam agreed to keep quiet about being Scotty's father since the information could destroy the Clegg family. Sloane and Hubert almost caught Mark and Colton together. Ali escaped after another assassin shot him. Mark's superiors insisted that Sloane be eliminated.
December 15-19, 1986:
Sloane and Hubie investigated Baxter's connection to the Octopus organization. Ali survived the assassin's gunshot, but wandered in a state of delirium. Tirese assured Sloane that Baxter is a good guy and revealed Baxter's association with "Flagship." Colton murdered Baxter's former cohort George Wilson. Before he died, George gave Sloane code numbers that only the real Baxter would know. Angelica fainted at the site of a mysterious man. Sloane refused to believe news reports of Ali's death.
December 22-26, 1986:
The mystery man who caused Angelica to swoon is her ex-husband Billy Crawford, who was just released from a Turkish prison. Crawford taunted Angelica that she's a bigamist after revealing they're not legally divorced. Jordy stood up Leanne in New York. Leanne learned that Jordy made a secret appointment with a plastic surgeon. Jordy told Leanne that he can't love her because he hates himself. Ali was rescued by old friend El Shim, who hid Ali and tended to his wounds. Baxter sent a message to Sloane via Carla, who left it at the Smithsonian. Sloane and Hubie found Carla's message hidden in a model of the British flagship The Dauntless, but Colton got to it first. Colton kidnapped Carla at gunpoint. Sloane and Hubie found Carla's ranscaked room and saw a notepad covered with the initials M.A.D.
December 29, 1986-January 2, 1987:
After Carla refused to divulge Baxter's whereabouts, Clarissa was horrified to discover Carla's murdered body buried under snow in the backyard. Baxter sent a coded message to Sloane that contained the initials MAD. Mark, whose coat is monogrammed with the initials MAD, arranged a meeting with Sloane, who was targeted for assassination. As Jarrett, Mark, and Sloane converged, Jarrett insisted he's the real Baxter McCandless and claimed Mark is a traitor. Sloane was torn between loyalties to Baxter and Mark, just as Colton took aim with his gun.
