CAPITOL: 1985 SYNOPSES
January 7-11, 1985:
Ricky left town to attend college. Brenda was left holding the bag when Dulcie skipped town after the accident. Wally insisted on accompanying Jordy to France. Paula blabbed to an astonished Trey that she saw Kelly Harper in Linda Vandenburg's art gallery. Jordy and Wally went to visit Brenda in the hospital, but Sam had Wally arrested before he could reunite with Brenda.
January 14-18, 1985:
Brenda and Jordy returned to D.C. Trey fumed when Josh Harrington announced his endorsement of Tyler's crime commission investigation. Myrna failed to keep Brenda from seeing Wally. While driving, Trey spotted Kelly's house which she used as the subject for the painting Myrna bought. Trey came face-to-face with Kelly, who refused to explain why she abandoned him two years ago.
January 21-25, 1985:
Kelly fought her attraction to Trey by making love with Thomas. Trey was torn between his love for Sloane and past feelings for Kelly. Brenda moved into the McCandless house rather than go home to the Cleggs. Wally admitted to Clarissa that he wants to marry Brenda. Frankie told Jordy that their romance is over.
Sloane walked out on Trey after she realized he still cares for Kelly.
January 28-February 1, 1985:
Cheetah discussed her abusive childhood with Nino. Tyler's Pan-Caribbean investigation implicated crimelord Victor Markham, whom Julie remembered being Zed's father-in-law. Tyler considered the possibility that presumed-dead Victor underwent plastic surgery and has a new identity. Clarissa recalled that her late husband Baxter was killed in a plane crash while transporting Markham's attache case.
February 4-8, 1985:
Julie revealed to Tyler that Victor Markham is Zed's father-in-law. Zed insisted he hasn't seen Victor in three years. Trey was insanely jealous after learning that Kelly is dating Thomas. Sandy found out that Cheetah's pregnant and insisted Nino fire her. Paula hired Ronnie to assist with the roman a clef she's writing about the Cleggs.
February 11-15, 1985:
Nino learned that Chip fathered Cheetah's baby. Zed returned to his job managing Mario's. Nino, who has feelings for Cheetah, refused to fire Cheetah and offered to let her stay at his apartment. Myrna planned a debutante party for Brenda.
February 18-22, 1985:
Cheetah considered Nino's offer of a job and a place to stay. Trey spotted Scotty in Kelly's yard, then sparred with Thomas. Posing as Francesca Van Buren, Frankie agreed to attend Brenda's party.
February 25-March 1, 1985:
Trey realized that he's Scotty's father after Kelly admitted that she's Scotty's mother. Hal suffered a heart attack. Thomas begged Kelly not to leave him for Trey. Wally and Brenda planned to elope and decided to hold off having sex until they're married. Nino fought with Sandy who disapproved of Cheetah's moving in with him.
March 4-8, 1985:
At Brenda's debutante party, Sam discovered Francesca is really Frankie. Kelly agreed to let Trey visit Scotty. Trey and Josh Harrington are running for the same Senate seat.
Brenda and Wally slipped out of the party to elope. Sam's henchmen followed Brenda and Wally but failed to halt their marriage. To get Sandy off his back, Nino lied that he's the father of Cheetah's baby. Tyler got a lead on an opeartive named Polo, who could help him bust the Pan-Caribbean cartel.
March 11-15, 1985:
Clarissa met Jarrett Morgan, who is paralyzed from the waist down. Charity ran into Harrington's cohort Ed Lawrence, who quizzed her about her late fiancee Glen Marriott, the pilot who died in the crash that killed Baxter McCandless. Wally and Brenda announced their engagement after their marriage was declared illegal. Polo offered to help Tyler and the crime commission. Sloane tested for a New York TV job.
March 18-22, 1985:
Maggie told Trey that Zed's real last name is Desmond. Thomas urged Jarrett to undergo tests to see if it's possible for him to walk again. Myrna informed Charity she wants to sponosr an art showing of "K's" paintings, unaware that "K" is Kelly Harper. Tyler's investigation led him to danger.
March 25-29, 1985:
Kelly declared her love to Thomas. Trey confronted Myrna about Kelly's disappearance two years ago, forcing Myrna to confess she had paid Kelly to leave town. Frankie left town after breaking up with Jordy. Sandy learned that Cheetah isn't carrying Nino's baby. While working on the Pan-Caribbean investigation, Tyler mysteriously vanished. Jarrett was secretly jealous of Mark and Clarissa's vacation.
April 1-5, 1985:
Julie fretted about Tyler's disappearance. Trey begged Kelly to forgive him for what happened between them, but she pretended she doesn't have any feelings for him. A delighted Ronnie heard about Jordy and Frankie's break up. Kelly agreed to let Myrna sponsor "K's" art show. Paula seethed over news that Mark is taking Clarissa on a romantic holiday to Paris.
Kelly's arrival at the art show stunned Myrna.
April 8-12, 1985:
Kelly revealed to a horrified Myrna that she's the mystery artist "K". Sloane refused to believe Trey, who insisted that he hasn't been seeing Kelly. Charity got closer to Ed. Ronnie seduced a dejected Jordy into bed. Paula plotted to sabotage Mark and Clarissa's trip to France. Sloane pursued a TV job in New York, where she was romanced by Zed.
April 15-19, 1985:
Paula failed to prevent Mark from taking Clarissa to Paris. Harrington learned that Ed has been spending time with Charity. Nino punched Chip during an argument about Cheetah's pregnancy. Trey and Kelly couldn't stay away from one another. Julie popped more pills while worrying about Tyler. Hospital attendant Smitty showed an unusual interest in Jarrett's recovery. Sandy plotted to sell Cheetah's baby to a shady attorney.
April 22-26, 1985:
Tyler phoned Julie to say that he's alive, but she continued to fear for his safety after someone murdered Polo. Zed demanded that Ronnie leave or return the blackmail money. Zed hired Chip to track down Kelly. Thomas persuaded Jarrett to undergo corrective surgery that might enable him to walk again. Trey couldn't deny his feelings for Kelly any longer and kissed her passionately. Paula hired a PI to get proof of Mark's infidelity with Clarissa in Paris.
April 29-May 3, 1985:
Charity learned that Ed and Josh Harrington have a connection to one another. Someone stole Jarrett's file from the hospital. Wally agreed to manage Sam's casino, while Sam secretly hoped Wally would start gambling again. After admitting he's still very much in love with Kelly, Trey feared that his marriage is going to fail. Sandy suggested to Cheetah that he could arrange a private adoption and better life for her baby.
May 6-10, 1985:
Unable to deny their feelings any longer, Kelly and Trey ended up in bed together. Charity suspected that Harrington is the key to Glen's disappearance. Smitty learned that Jarrett had an accident that required facial reconstructive surgery. Nino insisted to Cheetah that Sandy didn't plan to sell her baby. Paula had Ronnie lie to Myrna about Paula's relationship with Harrington. Julie's drug addiction worsened.
May 13-17, 1985:
Julie passed out after mixing pills and booze, but she recovered. Smitty terrorized Ronnie, then tampered with a syringe meant for Jarrett. Harrington pretended to have an affair with Paula to make Mark jealous, but Mark was actually envious of the time Jarrett and Clarissa spent together. Harrington suggested a real fling to Paula. Zed was suspcious of Smitty.
May 20-24, 1985:
Zed foiled Smitty's murder plot. Later, Smitty accidentally electrocuted himself to death while attempting to kill Jarrett, who underwent surgery. When Julie cried about losing Tyler and her baby, Trey admitted he's Scotty's father. Jarrett survived Thomas' surgery. Zed realized he has to find Tyler in order to help Julie.
May 27-31, 1985:
Kelly refused to let Trey claim Scotty as his son. Zed sent Chip to find Tyler. Julie refused her family's pleas that she check into a drug rehabilitation clinic. Thomas spotted Kelly kissing Trey. Charity snooped in Zed's office for information on Victor Markham, whom she thinks can prove Harrington engineered the plane crash that killed Glen. Julie agreed to keep Scotty's paternity a secret. Zed learned that Tyler's kidnappers are keeping him in an Italian monastery.
June 3-7, 1985:
Thomas slugged Trey over his treatment of Kelly. Judson tailed Zed to the monastery where Tyler is being held captive. Sloane discovered Kelly and Trey have been seeing one another, then she warned Kelly to stay away from Trey or face the consequences. Wally and Brenda planned a late summer wedding.
June 10-14, 1985:
Zed, Judson , and monk Father Fabian helped Tyler escape from the monastery. Trey put Julie in touch with attorney Austin Sinclair, who arranges black market baby deals. Zed and Judson learned that Victor Markham is very much alive. Tyler and Julie shared a joyous reunion, and Julie vowed to to stop taking tranquilizers. Paula planned a huge divorce settlement to get back at Mark.
June 17-21, 1985:
Zed caught Charity searching his files for information on Victor. Sam persuaded Jordy to help him buy a company owned by Cyrus Miller. Zed told Charity he'd reveal her past as an art thief, unless she steals a valuable painting from fellow criminal Leland Hanover.
Paula enlisted Myrna's help in proving Mark guilty of adultery with Clarissa. Cheetah went into labor, while Tyler and Julie agreed to adopt a child.
June 24-28, 1985:
Cyrus nixed the business deal after finding out his wife Deidre slept with Jordy. Tyler and Mark suspected that Jarrett underwent plastic surgery and is actually Victor Markham. Clarissa planned a Caribbean vacation with Mark after the divorce hearing. After giving birth, Cheetah agreed that her daughter would have a better life with adoptive parents. Sandy arranged to sell Cheetah's baby to Austin Sinclair. Jordy decided to join Wally at Sam's casino.
Myrna agreed to testify against Mark in court.
July 1-5, 1985:
Julie paid Austin to adopt a baby. Austin turned the money over to Cheetah, who doesn't know Julie McCandless is adopting her daughter. Kelly saw Trey with Sloane. Zed introduced Charity to Leland Hanover. Later, Charity found Hanover's stolen Gaugin hidden behind a wall in his bedroom Jordy began working at the casino.
Ronnie gave Myrna a copy of Paula's scandalous tell-all novel about the Cleggs, just as Myrna took the witness stand at the Denning divorce hearing. Sloane consulted with a private investigator to get proof of Trey and Kelly's extramarital affair.
July 8-12, 1985:
Zed warned Charity not to get caught stealing Hanover's painting. Charity revealed her past with Glen Marriott to Zed, who became wistful over the story of lost love. Private eye Phillip Wilkinson took photos of Trey making love to Kelly. An enraged Myrna savored her revenge after she testified in court that Paula cheated on Mark with Josh Harrington. The judge granted Mark's divorce and dismissed Paula's settlement. Jarrett became jealous after learning about Clarissa and Mark's vacation. Clarissa and Mark left for a romantic week in Columbe. Trey told Julie that he loves both Kelly and Sloane. Hal learned he's dying. Julie and Tyler joined Mark and Clarissa on Columbe. Mark, Tyler, and Julie searched for information to prove Jarrett is really Victor Markham.
July 15-19, 1985:
Mark and Tyler were certain Jarrett is Victor Markham after Julie proved he's using an alias; however, Jarrett is actually Clarissa's presumed dead husband Baxter McCandless! Paula deduced Myrna betrayed her in court because Ronnie gave Myrna a copy of the novel. Sam plotted to rid Brenda of Wally by encouraging Wally to gamble at the casino. Paula fired Ronnie.
Sloane received photographic proof of Trey's affair with Kelly and carefully deliberated her next move. Mark gave Clarissa an engagement ring.
July 22-26, 1985:
Tyler and Julie took baby Allison home from the hospital. On Sam's orders, Wally was suckered into amassing more gambling debts. Myrna deliberately arranged for Allison's christening on the same day as Brenda and Wally's wedding.
Charity successfully lifted the Gaugin from Hanover. Sloane wanted to give in to her passion for Zed. Ronnie begged Paula for a second chance.
July 29-August 2, 1985:
Sloane fell into bed with Zed, then quizzed him about his vendetta against Trey. Thomas worried about Wally's gambling addiction. Kelly became ill after a confrontation with Sloane. Nino and Cheetah's relationship grew cozier. Plotting revenge against Myrna, Paula realized Ronnie could still be useful in the Clegg mansion. Nino insisted Cheetah did the right thing by giving up her baby for adoption.
August 5-9, 1985:
Ronnie agreed to spy on Myrna for a share of Paula's book residuals. Jarrett was upset to see Clarissa's engagement ring. A stunned Brenda learned that Wally has amassed $15,000 in gambling debts. Sam and Marty hatched a plan to destroy Wally. Nino and Cheetah made love together.
August 12-16, 1985:
A beautiful gambler suckered Jordy into taking a bet over the club's limit, and she broke the house. Sam arranged Marty's offer to clear Wally's debt if Wally hires a crooked blackjack dealer. Hal suffered another attack while visiting Scotty. Trey continued to cheat on Kelly with Sloane.
August 19-23, 1985:
A furious Kelly realized that Trey is sleeping with both her and Sloane. Hal died from the heart attack. Sloane stunned Trey with the PI's photo of him making love to Kelly. Brenda broke up with Wally, who agreed to postpone their wedding until he can pay off his gambling debts. Jordy tried to find the mysterious gambler who broke the house.
August 26-30, 1985:
Fed up with Trey's extramarital affair, Sloane suggested they have an open marriage. Jordy discovered his mystery gambler is spoiled heiress Leanne Foster. Kelly elected to end her relationship with Trey. Judson remembered that Josh Harrington once had a mistress named Sherry Rogers. Ronnie secretly tape recorded conversations in the Clegg mansion.
September 2-6, 1985:
Brenda decided to learn why Wally is gambling again. Trey refused to tell Sloane whether or not he'll accept her idea of an open marriage. Jordy found himself atrracted to Leanne. Tyler worried that his Pan-Caribbean investigation is going nowhere. Trey's party leaders announced they want him to run for a Senate seat. Jordy was confused by Leanne's conflicting stories about her past.
September 9-13, 1985:
Kelly told Trey that their affair is over and forced him to say goodbye to Scotty. Trey led congressional attacks against Tyler's failed crime commission
project. Ronnie taped Trey and Sloane's discussion about his affair with Kelly. Tyler received an anonymous dossier that suggested Josh Harrington is head of the Pan-Caribbean crime cartel.
September 16-20, 1985:
Tyler was certain Jarrett saved the crime commission project by sending anonymous info on underworld figures. Leanne told Jordy that her stepbrother Jeremy is trying to harm her. Paula fumed when Sloane agreed to be Clarissa's matron of honor. Kelly reconciled with Trey after he swore he wants a life with her and Scotty. Sam feared Trey's relationship with Kelly will ruin his chances of being elected to the Senate. Trey decided he has to divorce Sloane and be with Kelly. Thomas entered Jarrett's apartment and searched for clues about his identity.
September 23-27, 1985:
Thomas found a dossier on Clarissa in Jarrett's steamer trunk and deduced Jarrett is his late father. Trey informed Kelly of his intention to divorce Sloane so that he can marry Kelly. Sam warned Kelly away from Trey but failed to dissuade Trey from leaving Sloane. Zed rescued a drunken Sloane who was mistakenly arrested for prostitution.
An embittered Thomas confronted Jarrett, who eventually confessed he's Baxter McCandless. Sam caught Ronnie with a hidden tape recorder and realized she has been secretly recording conversations. Thomas accused Jarrett of playing God with their lives.
September 30-October 4, 1985:
Jarrett promised Thomas that he won't ruin Mark and Clarissa's marriage plans by revealing his true identity. Sam and Sloane conspired behind Myrna's back to bust up Kelly and Trey's relationship. Jarrett remembered that Sherry once worked for an organized crime leader. After Jordy found her in a shabby motel room, Leanne confessed she comes from a poor family in Kentucky.
October 7-11, 1985:
Zed told Thomas that Victor Markham saved Baxter's life after his plane crashed in Columbe. Nino romanced Cheetah in New York. Thomas spotted Jarrett kissing Clarissa after she helped him walk for the first time since his surgery.
Sam and Sloane hatched a plan to make Trey think Sloane has information that could destroy the Clegg family. Ronnie found fake evidence suggesting Sam sold arms to enemies of the United States and ran with it to Sloane.
October 14-18, 1985:
Trey promised Kelly he's determined to divorce Sloane. Jarrett told Clarissa he'd leave so she won't have to choose bewteen two men. Wally suspected Bumper is stealing from Sam's casino. Tyler learned that Allison's birth mother is Emily Riley, but he doesn't know that Emily is Cheetah's real name.
Sam lied to Trey that Sloane has proof Sam's a traitor and warned she'd go to the Attorney General if Trey doesn't drop plans for a divorce.
Cheetah and Nino married then left for a Caribbean honeymoon financed by Sandy, who arranged a meeting with Tyler. Brenda dated motorcyclist Dylan to trick Sam and Myrna into approving of Wally.
October 21-25, 1985:
A supposedly dead Victor Markham arrived on Jarrett's doorstep. Wally, Leanne, Jordy, and Judson pulled off a sting that proved Bumper and Marty are stealing from Sam's casino. Unaware of Sam and Sloane's plot, Myrna hired John Healy to pressure Sloane into keping mum about Sam's shady past.
Sandy suggested Tyler drop the Pan-Caribbean investigation or lose Allison. Brenda sent an anonymous note and photograph of herself and Dylan to Sam and Myrna. Dylan sparred with thug Griff, who trashed his bike. Jordy spotted Leanne popping pills. Sam destroyed Scotty's hospital birth records then threatened to have him taken away from Kelly if she doesn't leave town. Thomas tried to convince Jarrett not to leave Washington. Jarrett warned Thomas they're all in danger if Jarrett's true identity becomes public knowledge.
Sandy told Nino that Cheetah might be killed if she doesn't agree to take Allison away from Tyler and Julie. Mark guessed Tyler's crime commission is after Josh Harrington. Brenda accepted Wally's proposal.
October 28-November 1, 1985:
Myrna panicked when Sam informed her John Healy is a dangerous hitman. Healy terrorized Sloane at the townhouse. Trey walked in just as Sloane confessed to Healy that she and Sam concocted the blackmail scheme. Healy stabbed Trey in a scuffle. Brenda overheard Dylan threaten to kill Griff during an argument. Wally informed Sam that Marty and Lavern confessed to setting up Wally's gambling debts on Sam's orders. Using his winnings from the sting, Wally repaid Sam in full and announced his engagement to Brenda. Myrna flipped over the photo of Brenda and Dylan together. Mark and Tyler tracked down Nino, who said he and Cheetah want Allison back. Kelly fled to LA with Scotty following Sam's threats. Leanne took more pills then collpased at the casino. Trey denounced Sam and the Clegg name and vowed to find Kelly.
Clarissa was torn between feelings for Jarrett and Mark.
November 4-8, 1985:
Trey announced on TV that he's divorcing Sloane for Kelly, with whom he has an illegitimate child. Paula insisted to Sloane that Clarissa loves Jarrett, not Mark. Mark got close to Jarrett's true identity after finding a photograph of Jarrett's yacht, which is named The Clarissa. Julie learned Tyler's being blackmailed by the mob to drop the crime commission or lose Allison. Tyler admitted he thinks Josh Harrington is behind the plot.
Kelly saw Trey's TV interview and decided to return to D.C.
November 11-15, 1985:
On the eve of his wedding to Clarissa, an unseen assailant shot Mark in the head. Tyler discovered Mark near death at the Lincoln Club. Charity accused Josh of masterminding the plane crash that killed Baxter and her fiance Glenn. Kelly and Trey reunited and vowed never to be apart again. Dylan and Brenda were wanted for murdering Griff. Tyler suspected Josh Harrington killed Baxter. A drunken Leanne was arrested.
November 18-22, 1985:
Mark survived surgery to remove a bullet lodged near his brain. After confronting Harrington about Glen's death, Charity feared her own life is in danger. Jarrett was the prime suspect in Mark's shooting. Witnesses at the Lincoln Club reported seeing a woman leaving the building moments after Mark was shot. Jordy shared a romantic reunion with Leanne, whom he bailed out of jail. Tyler refused to submit to Sandy's blackmail demands.
November 25-29, 1985:
The police arrested Jarrett on suspicion of shooting Mark. Sloane suspected Mark was shot by the mystery woman at the Lincoln Club. Julie reacted strangely to the news of Mark's attack. Clarissa insisted Jarrett couldn't have been Mark's assailant. Victor and henchwoman Lila held someone captive in his house.
Dylan and Brenda were cleared in Griff's death. Jordy whisked Leanne off for an exotic vacation in the Caribbean. Leanne struggled over whether or not she should tell Jordy that she has a terminal illness.
December 2-6, 1985:
Mark came out of his coma and told Sloane that Julie shot him. On Josh's orders, Sandy kidnapped Julie and hid her at a country farmhouse with conspirators Len and Sherry. Jarrett suspected Harrington kidnapped Julie, but Tyler warned him Victor Markham might be the culprit. Wally was stunned to learn that Jarrett is really his father Baxter. Zed bailed Jarrett out of jail.
Later, Jarrett pumped Victor for info and found his prisoner, who appeared to be Julie. Dylan followed Brenda back to D.C.
December 9-13, 1985:
Tyler insisted to Thomas that Julie didn't shoot Mark. Victor's prisoner is his deranged daughter Jenny, who is a dead ringer for Julie. Victor discovered Lila had handcuffed Jenny to a bed. Zed confessed to Charity his wife Jenny was killed on their wedding night three years ago. Believing her to be Julie, Jarrett helped Jenny escape from Victor. Tyler searched for Cheetah.
Dylan and Brenda's relationship became steamy while dancing at Corky's.
December 16-20, 1985:
A shocked Clarissa finally realized Jarrett is really her late husband Baxter. Victor cursed Jarrett for helping Jenny escape then warned him not to tell Zed that Jenny is still alive. Myrna continued to use Dylan as a weapon against Wally. Dylan accepted Myrna's job offer to maintain the Clegg cars. Kidnapper Len harrassed Julie. Mark's condition took a turn for the worse.
December 23-27, 1985:
Clarissa and Paula sparred over Mark, who suffered a mild stroke. Tyler learned that Josh's girlfriend Sherry Rogers is involved in Julie's kidnapping. Jenny caught a glimpse of Zed but fainted before they could meet. Julie fended off Len who attempted to rape her. Paula learned the truth about Jarrett's identity.
December 30, 1985-January 4, 1986:
Sherry prevented Len from raping Julie. Jenny had nightmares that someone is trying to kill her. Myrna didn't believe Paula, who told her that Jarrett is actually Myrna's old flame Baxter McCandless. Julie escaped but was recaptured by Sandy, who drugged her.
Tyler and Sloane teamed up to find Julie.
